Pacific Coast Terminals Wins Port Moody Spike Award

On October 20, 2011 Port Moody’s 6th annual Spike Awards were announced at the Inlet Theatre, by the City of Port Moody’s Economic Development Committee.

This year, PCT was nominated for Spike Awards in 3 categories (Arts in Business, Environmental, and Technology and Innovation) and was thrilled to receive the Technology and Innovation award.

Over the years, PCT has invested more than $90 million in terminal improvements using innovative technology, all with a focus on environmental protection. PCT has created a salt marsh for marine habitat enhancement, planted over 2,000 trees, installed site wastewater treatment, and introduced dust suppression and noise reduction systems.

The Spike Awards annually honour outstanding local businesses in six different categories:

  • Arts in Business
  • Street Appeal
  • Customer Service
  • Environmental
  • Technology and Innovation
  • Tourist Destination

PCT has been nominated several times over the past few years and this is the first Spike award win for the company.
